Can I use social media content to write a book?

The short answer is yes. It’s simple; content is content. It doesn’t matter what type of program you use to write it. If you have consistently used social media (ex: Facebook, Instagram) to expound on a topic of your interest, you can use it to construct your book. There are many advantages to using this as a book-writing strategy. Today, I’ll list two of my favorites.

  1. Audience Engagement: If you are posting regularly on Facebook, you are already engaging with your audience long before your book is developed. It will not be a surprise once your book is released. And, they will have already taken an interest in your message and are likely to buy a copy.
  2. The framework is in progress: You’ve already done the hard part. Many writers don’t know where to begin. If you have already started blogging or writing notes on a particular topic, you’ve already started the framework for your book. You can always go back to modify, organize, and restructure the chapters.
